Almubarak Islamic School was founded by its founder Alustadh Mbarouk Shaaban Hajji in the year 1999 after being persuaded by one of his teachers Almarhoum Sheikh Abdallah Bin Abubakar Bakathir to start an Islamic academic institution. Almarhoum Sheikh Bakathir also helped a lot in the obtaining of the land that this school is built on which was given to the founder by Almarhoum Maalim Khalil Mahmoud Abdul Rahman on 21stJuly 1999 for the purpose of building a mosque and a madrasa.
In the year 2001 Almubarak Islamic School was officially opened by the former deputy minister of Education of Zanzibar on behalf of the former first lady of Zanzibar, Mama Shadya Karume.
Almubarak started the work of teaching after the completion of the first stage of building the school in the year 2001 and the official inauguration. This institution was opened by the former deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Sports on behalf of the former first lady of Zanzibar Mama Shadya Karume.

In the year ..., students at Almubarak Islamic School started sitting for Form IV national examinations, and the school has had a good track record of students doing very well.
In the Year 2007, Almubarak Islamic School's Madrasa Section conducted its first graduation ceremony to honor students that had finished their primary level studies.
In the year 2016, Almubarak Islamic School finished its first step into building more facilities for the school and finally be able to separate male and female students.
